Basel Peace Office announces the nine inspiring finalists for the 2026 PACEY Award

Basel Peace Office is pleased to announce the nine finalists for the 2026 Peace, nuclear Abolition and Climate Engaged Youth (PACEY) Award. They have been selected by the PACEY Award Jury from 75 youth projects nominated for the award from around the world. The three winning projects will be selected by vote at the PACEY Award Ceremony on January 23. They will each receive a prize of €5000 plus organizational support.

Call for Nominations for the 2026 PACEY Award

Do you know of a youth project that addresses peace, nuclear disarmament and/or climate issues and that could be boosted by a prestigious award with €5000 in prize money to help it succeed? If so, we encourage you to nominate it for the 2026 PACEY Award. Nominations are easy. And if you are young and involved in such a project, you can nominate it yourself. The 2025 retreat of PSR/IPPNW Switzerland took place from October 3–6 at Villa Edera in Auressio (Ticino), gathering long-standing members and new collaborators for four days of inspiring presentations, discussions, and reflection in a warm and collegial atmosphere.

Basel Peace Office hosted a very successful Good Future Forum from August 13-15, 2025. The forum brought world futurists, youth leaders and experts together to discuss peace, nuclear weapons, climate change and Artificial Intelligence.

PACEY Award 2021 winners achieve historic climate change decision from the International Court of Justice

On July 23, the world's top court affirmed a comprehensive set of stringent legal obligations regarding climate change. The case was brought to the court through a global campaign led by World's Youth for Climate Change, one of the 2021 winners of the prestigous PACEY Award, which is conferred annually by the Basel Peace Office. Leaders of this groundbreaking climate case will be amongst the speakers at The Good Future Forum in Basel on August 13-15.
